• Airport : 항공기의 착륙 및 이륙을 위해 사용되거나 사용될 의도가 있는 육지 또는 수면의 지역으로 건물과 시설이 있는 경우 포함됨.
• Airport Elevation/Field Elevation : 평균 해수면에서 feet 단위로 측정한 공항의 사용 가능한 활주로의 가장 높은 지점. 일부 국가에서는 airport elevation(비행장 표고)이 ARP(Airport Reference Point)에서 결정됨.
• Airport Reference Point (ARP) : 공식 공항의 위치를 표시하는 공항의 한 지점. 
• Airport Surface Detection Equipment - Model X (ASDE-X) : 레이더, 항공기 트랜스폰더, 위성 및 다변측정감시(multilateraion)를 이용해 항공기 및 차량이 지상 이동을 추적하는 감시 시스템.
• Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) : 터미널 지역(terminal area)에서 항공기의 위치를 감지하고 나타내주는 데 사용되는 접근 관제 레이더. ASR은 범위(range) 정보와 방위각(azimuth) 정보를 제공하지만 표고(elevation) 데이터는 제공하지 않음. ASR의 운용 범위는 60마일까지.
• Airprox : 항공 교통사고 보고에서 항공기 근접을 나타내는 데 사용되는 용어(코드).
• Air-Report : 비행 중 위치, 운영 및/또는 기상 보고 요건에 따라 미리 준비된 형식에 맞춰 항공기로부터 얻는 보고. (즉, 기상 관측 보고로서, 특수한 기상 상태의 조우나, 항공 기상 부서에서 특별히 자료를 요구했을 경우 기온, 풍향, 풍속, 난기류, 착빙 등 AIREP 형식에 따라 보고.)
• Air-Taxing : 헬리콥터/VTOL이 비행장 표면 위에서 이동하는 것으로, 일반적으로 ground effect 영역 내에 있고 ground speed는 20KT (37 kmh) 미만임. / 참고 - 실제 높이는 다양할 수 있으며, 일부 헬리콥터는 ground effect turbulence를 줄이거나 화물 slingload를 위한 clearance를 제공하기 위해 25ft (8m) AGL 이상의 air-taxing을 필요로 할 수 있음.
• Air-To-Ground Communication : 항공기에서 지상의 기지국(station) 또는 지상국(location)으로 보내는 단방향 통신.
• Air Traffic : 비행 중이거나 비행장(aerodrome)의 기동 구역(manoeuvring area)에서 운항 중인 모든 항공기.
• Air Traffic Advisory Service : IFR 비행 계획에 따라 운항하는 항공기 간의 적정 간격 분리를 보장하기 위해 조언 공역(advisory airspace) 내에서 제공되는 업무(service)
• Air Traffic Control Assigned Airspace (ATCAA) : 할당된 공역 내에서 수행되는 특정 활동(activities)과 다른 IFR 항적(air traffic) 사이에 항공 교통 분리(air traffic segregation)를 제공할 목적으로 ATC가 할당한 vertical/lateral(수직/측면) 제한의 공역.

•  Airport : An area on land or water that is used or intended to be used for the landing and take-off of aircraft and includes its buildings and facilities, if any.
• Airport Elevation/Field Elevation : The highest point of an airports usable runways measured in feet from mean sea level. In a few countries, the airport elevation is determined at the airport reference point.
• Airport Reference Point (ARP) : A point on the airport designated as the official airport location. 
• Airport Surface Detection Equipment - Model X (ASDE-X) : A surveillance system using radar, aircraft transponders, satellites, and multilateraion to track surface movement of aircraft and vehicles.
• Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) : Approach control radar used to detect and display an aircraft's position in the terminal area. ASR provides range and azimuth information but does not provide elevation data. Coverage of the ASR can extend up to 60 miles.
• Airprox : The code word used in an air traffic incident report to designate aircraft proximity.
• Air-Report : A report from an aircraft in flight prepared in conformity with requirements for position and operational and/or meteorological reporting. / Note - Details of the AIREP form are given in PANSATM (Doc 4444) and ATC section. 
• Air-Taxing : Movement of a helicopter/VTOL above the surface of an aerodrome, normally in ground effect and at a ground speed normally less than 20KT (37 kmh). / Note - The actual height may vary, and some helicopters may require air-taxing above 25ft (8m) AGL to reduce ground effect turbulence or provide clearance for cargo slingloads.
• Air-To-Ground Communication : One-way communication from aircraft to stations or locations on the surface of the earth.
• Air Traffic : All aircraft in flight or operating on the manoeuvring area of an aerodrome. 
• Air Traffic Advisory Service : A service provided within advisory airspace to ensure separation, in so far as practical, between aircraft which are operating on IFR flight plans.
• Air Traffic Control Assigned Airspace (ATCAA) : Airspace of defined vertical/lateral limits, assigned by ATC, for the purpose of providing air traffic segregation between the specified activities being conducted within the assigned airspace and other IFR air traffic.
