• Altimeter Setting : 현존하는 대기압에서 변화를 위해 기압 고도계(pressure altimeter)를 조정하거나 표준 고도계 수정치(standard altimeter setting)에 활용하기 위한 대기압 수치. (29.92inches of mercury, 1013.2 hectopascals or 1013.2 millibars)

1. QFE : 비행장(airfield)의 reference datum에서 고도계(altimeter)를 "0"에 설정.
2. QNE : 29.92 inches나 수은(mercury) 또는 1013.25 hectopascals나 1013.25 millibars의 reference datum과 관련된 일정한 대기압. Flight level를 표현하는 데 사용됨.(29.92inch에 맞추었을 때 지시하는 고도, 국내 14,000 feet / FAA 18,000 feet)
3. QNH : 평균 해수면(mean sea level)을 기준으로 하는 고도계 설정.

• Altitude (ICAO) : 평균 해수면(MSL)에서 측정된 평면, 지점 또는 지점으로 간주되는 특정 물체까지의 수직거리.
• Altitude (USA) : MSL 또는 AGL로부터 feet 단위로 측정된 평면, 지점 또는 물체의 높이

1. AGL Altitude : 지표면(ground level)으로부터 측정된 feet 단위의 고도(QFE).
2. MSL Altitude : 평균 해수면(MSL)으로부터 측정된 feet 단위의 고도(QNH).
3. Indicated Altitude : Altimeter에 나타나는 고도. 압력 기압 고도계(pressure barometric altimeter)에서는 계기 오류에 대해 보정되지 않은 것으로 표시되고 표준 대기 조건에 따른 변화에 대해 보정되지 않은 것으로 표시되는 고도.

• Approach Ban : 보고된 시정이나 RVR이 해당 approach에 대해 지정된 minimum 미만인 경우, 특정 지점 또는 특정 높이를 넘어 비행하는 것이 금지되는 approach procedure. 
• Approach Control Office : 한 개 이상의 비행장에 도착하거나 출발하는 관제 비행 항공기에 대해 항공 교통관제 서비스를 제공하기 위해 설치된 기관. 
• Approach Control Service : 도착 또는 출발하는 관제 항공기에 대한 항공 교통관제 서비스.
• Approach Control Unit : 한 개 이상의 비행장에 도착하거나 출발하는 관제 항공기에 대해 항공 교통관제 서비스를 제공하기 위해 설립된 Unit.
• Approach Funnel : 착륙을 위해 접근하는 항공기가 정상 접근을 하도록 고려된 가상의 approach path(접근로) 주위의 특정 공역.
• Approach Procedure With Vertical Guidance (APV) : see INSTRUMENT APPROACH PROCEDURE (IAP). 
• Approach Sequence : 비행장에 착륙하기 위한 접근을 하도록 clearance를 받는 항공기의 순서.
• Appropriate ATS Authority : 관련 공역 내에서 항공 교통 서비스를 제공할 책임이 있는 국가가 지정한 적절한 당국.
• Appropritate Authority : 

1. Regarding flight over the high seas(공해상에서의 비행 관련) : 등록 국가의 관계 당국
2. Regarding flight other than over the high seas (공해상 이외의 비행 관련) : 통과하는 지역에 대해 주권을 가지고 있는 국가의 관계 당국.

•  Altimeter Setting : The barometric pressure reading used to adjust a pressure altimeter for variations in existing atmospheric pressure or to the standard altimeter setting (29.92inches of mercury, 1013.2 hectopascals or 1013.2 millibars).

1. QFE : The atmospheric pressure setting which, when set in the aircraft's altimeter, will cause the altimeter to read zero when at the reference datum of the airfield.
2. QNE : The constant atmospheric pressure related to a reference datum of 29.92inches or mercury or 1013.25 hectopascals or 1013.25 millibars, used for expressing flight levels.
3. QNH : The atmospheric pressure setting which, when set in the aircraft's altimeter, will cause the altimeter to read altitudes referenced to mean sea level.

• Altitude (ICAO) : The vertical distance of a level, a point, or an object considered as a point, measured from Mean Sea Level (MSL).
• Altitude (USA) : The height of a level, point or object measured in feet Above Ground Level (AGL) or from Mean Sea Level (MSL).

1. AGL Altitude : Altitude expressed in feet measured above ground level (QFE).
2. MSL Altitude : Altitude expressed in feet measured from mean sea level (QNH).
3. Indicated Altitude : The Altitude as shown by an altimeter. On a pressure barometric altimeter it is altitude as shown uncorrected for instrument error and uncompensated for variation from standard atmospheric conditions.

• Approach Ban : An approach procedure, for which continuation is prohibited beyond a specific point, and or specified height, if the reported visibility or RVR is below the minimum specified for that approach. 
• Approach Control Office : A unit established to provide air traffic control service to controlled flights arriving at, or departing from, one or more aerodromes.
• Approach Control Service : Air traffic control service for arriving or departing controlled flights.
• Approach Control Unit : A unit established to provide air traffic control service to controlled flights arriving at, or departing from, one or more aerodromes.
• Approach Funnel : A specified airspace around a nominal approach path within which an aircraft approaching to land is considered to be making a normal approach.
• Approach Procedure With Vertical Guidance (APV) : see INSTRUMENT APPROACH PROCEDURE (IAP).
• Approach Sequence : The order in which two or more aircraft are cleared to approach to land at the aerodrome.
• Approach ATS Authority : Thr relevant authority designated by the State responsible for providing air traffic services in the airspace concerned. 
• Appropriate Authority : 

1. Regarding flight over the high seas : the relevant authority of the State of Registry.
2. Regarding flight other than over the high seas : The relevant authority of the State having sovereignty over the territory being overflown.
