- Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS) : 항공기 식별(aircraft identification), 4차원의 위치(four-dimensional position) 및 적절한 추가 데이터를 포함하여 항공기 탑재 장비(on-board navigation)와 지상의 고정 시스템(position fixing system)으로부터 얻어진 데이터 링크를 통해 항공기가 자동으로 제공하는 감시 기법.
- Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B) : 항공기, 비행장 내 차량 및 기타 물체가 데이터 링크를 통해 방송 모드(broadcast mode)에서 식별(identification), 위치(position) 및 추가 데이터와 같은 데이터를 자동으로 전송 및/또는 수신할 수 있는 수단.
- Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Contract (ADS-C) : 데이터 링크를 통해 지상 시스템과 항공기 간에 ADS-C agreement를 교환하는 수단으로, ADS-C report가 시작되는 condition과 report에 포함될 데이터를 지정. / 참고 - "ADS" contract라는 용어는 일반적으로 ADS event contract, ADS demand contract 또는 emergency mode를 지칭하는 데 사용됨.
- Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) : 하루종일 또는 하루의 일정 기간 동안 계속적이고 반복적인 방송으로 도착/출발 항공기에게 자동적이고 일상적인 정보를 제공하는 업무:
- (D-ATIS) Data link-Automatic Terminal Information Service. 데이터 링크를 통한 ATIS 제공.
- (Voice-ATIS) Voice-Automatic Terminal Information Service : 지속적이고 반복적인 음성 방송을 통해 ATIS를 제공.
- Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS) : 미국의 ASOS는 미국 국립 기상청, 연방 항공구, 국방부에서 시행하는 표면 기상 관측 시스템임. 항공 운항 및 기상 예보 활동을 지원하기 위해 설계됨. ASOS는 지속적인 분 단위 관측을 제공하고 METAR 및 기타 항공 기상 정보를 생성하는 데 필요한 기본 관측 기능을 수행함. ASOS 정보는 별개의 VHF 무선 주파수 또는 local 항행 안전시설의 음성 부분을 통해 전송될 수 있음.
- Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) : 지역 실시간 기상 데이터를 조종사에게 직접 전송하는 자동 기상 보고 시스템.
- AWOS-A : 고도계 세팅만 보고.
- AWOS-A/V : 고도계 세팅과 시정 보고.
- AWOS-1 : 보통 고도계 세팅, 바람 정보, 온도, 이슬점 및 밀도고도 보고.

- Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS) : A surveillance technique, in which aircraft automatically provide, via a data link, data derived from on-board navigation and position fixing system, including aircraft identification, four-dimensional position and additional data as appropriate.
- Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B) : A means by which aircraft, aerodrome vehicles and other objects can automatically transmit and/or receive data such as identification, position and additional data, as appropriate, in a broadcast mode via a data link.
- Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Contract (ADS-C) : A means by which the terms of an ADS-C agreement will be exchanged between the ground system and the aircraft, via a data link, specifying under what conditions ADS-C reports would be initiated, and what data would be contained in the reports. / Note - The abbreviated term "ADS" contract is commonly used to refer to ADS event contract, ADS demand contract or an emergency mode.

- Data link-Automatic terminal information service (D-ATIS). The provision of ATIS via data link.
- Voice-Automatic terminal information service (Voice-ATIS). The provision of ATIS by means of continuous and repetitive voice broadcasts.
- Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS) : The Automated Surface Observation System, in the United States, is a surface weather observing system implemented by the National Weather Service, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Defense. It is designed to support aviation operations and weather forecast activities. The ASOS provides continuous minute-by-minute observations and performs the basic observing functions necessary to generate an aviation routine weather report (METAR) and other aviation weather information. ASOS information may be transmitted over a discrete VHF radio frequency or the voice portion of a local navaid.
- Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) : An automated weather reporting system which transmits local real-time weather data directly to the pilot.
- AWOS-A : Only reports altimeter setting.
- AWOS-A/V : Reports altimeter setting plus visibility.
- AWOS-1 : Usually reports altimeter setting, wind data, temperature, dewpoint and density altitude.
- AWOS-2 : Reports same as AWOS-1 plus visibility.
- AWOS-3 : Reports same as AWOS-2 plus cloud/ceiling data.
