• Displaced Threshold : 활주로의 말단(선단)에 위치하지 않은 활주로 말단을 말함. (계획된 활주로의 시작 지점 이외의 지점에 위치한 활주로 말단으로 이 지역에 착륙이 허용되지 않으나 활주로 진입을 위한 지상활주와 이륙을 위한 이륙활주는 허용됨. 이 지역의 표시는 활주로 끝단으로부터 백색 화살표로 표시됨.)
• Distress : 심각하고 긴박한 위험에 처해 있고 긴급 구조가 요구되는 상태.
• Distress Phase : 항공기와 탑승자가 심각한 위험에 직면하였거나 즉각적인 도움이 필요하다고 확신되는 상태.
• DME Distance : DME signal 근원지로부터 DME 수신 안테나까지의 가시거리(경사거리).
• Effective Date/Time : FAA and Canada - 미국과 그 영토의 항공 정보는 일반적으로 UTC 09:01에 effective date의 효력이 있음. Effective time은 공역, 항로 및 비행 절차에 적용됨. 이는 미국 현지 01:00~06:00 표준시 사이에 실행될 수 있음. 지방 당국은 지역 운영 고려사항의 이유로 시행 날짜나 시간을 변경할 수 있음. 정보를 위해선 현지 ATC와 contact 하고 NOTAM을 확인해야 함. / International - 국제 민간 항공 기구 (ICAO) 지침(guidance)은 항공 정보가 지정된 effective date인 00:00 UTC에 발효되어야 한다고 명시함. 그러나 국가 및 지방 당국은 종종 지역 운영 고려사항으로 인해 현지 야간 또는 기타 시간에 시행을 허용하도록 effective time을 변경함. 00:00 UTC가 아닌 effective time을 사용할 경우, ICAO는 해당 국가의 공식 AIP에 해당 내용을 게시해야 함. 추가적인 정보를 위해선 현지 ATC에 contact 하고 NOTAM을 확인해야 함.
• Elevation : 평균 해수면으로부터 측정한 지표면 혹은 지점, 또는 지표면에 부착된 지점까지의 수직 거리.
• Emergency Phase : 불확실 단계, 경보 단계, 조난 단계 등을 의미하는 일반적인 용어.
• Engineered Materials Arresting System (EMAS) : Runway overrun에 위치한 고에너지 흡수 물질로, material이 항공기 랜딩 기어에 감속력을 발휘할 때 항공기의 무게로 찌그러지도록 설계됨.
• Enroute Flight Advisory Service (Flight Watch) : 조종사의 요청에 따라 비행 tpye, 원하는 flight route 및 altitude와 관련된 시기적절한 기상 정보를 제공하도록 특별히 설계된 서비스. 이러한 서비스를 제공한 FSS는 Jeppesen Enroute 및 Area chart에 표시되어 있음. 
• Estimated Elapsed Time : 한 지점에서 다른 지점까지 진행하는데 소요되는 예정 시간.
• Estimated Off-Block Time : 출발 항공기의 이동 시작 예정 시간.

• Displaced Threshold : A threshold that is located at a point on the runway other than the designated beginning of the runway.

When an effective time other than 00:00 UTC is used, ICAO requires that it be published in the official Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) of the country. Check NOTAMs and contact local ATC for information.
• Elevation : The vertical distance of a point or a level, on or affixed to the surface of the earth, measured from mean sea level.
• Emergency Phase : A generic term meaning, as the case may be, uncertainly phase, alert phase or distress phase.
• Engineered Materials Arresting System (EMAS) : High-energy-absorbing material located in the runway overrun that is designed to crush under the weight of an aircraft as the material exerts deceleration forces on the aircraft landing gear.
• Enroute Flight Advisory Service (Flight Watch) : A service specifically desgined to provide, upon pilot request, timely weather information pertinent to the type of flight, intended route of flight, and altitude. The FSSs providing this service are indicated on Jeppesen Enroute and Area charts.
• Estimated Elapsed Time : The estimated time required to proceed from one significant point to another.
• Estimated Off-Block Time : The estimated time at which the aircraft will commence movement associated with departure.
