• Apron : 여객의 탑승, 하기, 화물의 적재, 항공기의 정비점검, 주기, 연료 보급 등의 목적으로 항공기를 수용하기 위한 육상 비행장의 정의된 구역. (Ramp라고도 함.)
• ARC : see Aerodrome Reference Code.
• Area Control Centre : 관할 관제구역 내의 관제 비행 항공기에게 항공 교통관제 업무를 제공하기 위해 설치된 기관.
• Area Control Service : 관제 구역 내의 관제 항공기에 대한 항공 교통관제 업무.
• Area Minimum Altitude (AMA) : 일반적으로 평행선과 자오선으로 형성되는 지정된 지역 내 minimum obstacle clearance를 제공하는 계기 비행 기상 조건(IMC)에서 사용되는 minimum altitude.
• Area Navigation/RNAV : 지상 항행 보조 시설의 유효 범위 또는 자체 탑재 장비의 성능 한계 내에서, 또는 이러한 장비들을 결합하여 어떠한 비행 방향으로든지 비행이 가능하게 하는 항행 방법. 
• Area Navigation Route : 지역항법(RNAV)의 능력을 갖춘 항공기가 사용하도록 설정된 ATS 비행로. 
• Arrival Routes : Enroute(순항) 단계(phase)에서 initial approach fix까지의 계기 접근 절차(instrument approach procedure)로 비행하는 항공기의 경로.
• Assignment, Assign : 무선국으로 주파수를 할당 또는 항공기에 SSR 부호(code) 또는 24비트 수신처의 할당을 뜻함.
• ATIS - ASOS Interface : ATIS broadcast에 ASOS 기상 관측치를 추가하여 동일한(ATIS) 주파수 H24에서 기상 정보를 사용할 수 있도록 하는 switch. Tower가 개방되면 ATIS 정보와 시간대별 기상 정보가 broadcast. Tower가 닫히면, 분 단위 날씨 정보 업데이트가 broadcast 되며, controller는 ASOS 자동 음성 날씨 메시지에 밤새 ATIS 정보를 추가할 수 있음.
• ATS Route : 항공 교통 서비스 제공에 필요한 경우 교통 흐름을 전달하도록 설계된 특정 route. / 참고 1 - "ATS route"란 airway, advisory route, controlled 또는 uncontrolled route, arrival 혹은 departure route 등을 다양하게 의미하는 데 사용됨. / 참고 2 - ATS route는 ATS route 지정자(designator), 중요 지점(way-point)을 오가는 track, 중요 지점 사이의 distance, 보고 요구 사항(reporting requirement) 및 적절한 ATS 기관에 의해 결정된 최저 안전 고도를 포함하는 route 사양(sepcification)으로 정의됨. 
• ATS Surveillance Service : ATS surveillance system을 통해 직접 제공되는 서비스를 나타내는 데 사용되는 용어.
• ATS Surveillance System : 항공기 식별을 가능하게 하는 ADS-B, PSR, SSR 또는 유사한 지상 기반 시스템을 다양하게 의미하는 일반 용어. / 참고 - 유사한 지상 기반 시스템은 비교 평가 또는 기타 방법론에 의해 모노펄스 SSR과 같거나 더 나은 수준의 안전 및 성능을 갖는 것으로 입증된 시스템.

• Apron : A defined area, on a land aerodrome, intended to accommodate aircraft for purposes of loading or unloading passengers, mail or cargo, fueling, parking or maintenance.

• Assignment, Assign : Distribution of frequencies to stations. Distribution of SSR Codes or 24-bit addresses to aircraft. 
• ATIS - ASOS Interface : A switch that allows ASOS weather observations to be appended to the ATIS broadcast, making weather information available on the same (ATIS) frequency H24. When the tower is open, ATIS information and the hourly weather will be broadcast. When the tower is closed, on-minute weather information updates are broadcast, and the controller can add overnight ATIS information to the ASOS automated voice weather message. 
• ATS Route : A specified route designed for channeling the flow of traffic as necessary for the provision of air traffic services. / Note 1 - The term "ATS route" is used to mean variously, airway, advisory route, controlled or uncontrolled route, arrival or departure route, etc. / Note 2 - An ATS route is defined by route specifications which include an ATS route designator, the track to or from significant points (way-points), distance between significant points, reporting requirements and, as determinded by the appropriate ATS authority, the lowest safe altitude. 
• ATS Surveillance Service : A term used to indicate a service provided directly by means of an ATS surveillance system.
• ATS Surveillance System : A generic term meaning variously, ADS-B, PSR, SSR or any comparable ground-based system that enables the identification of aircraft. / Note - A comparable ground-based system is one that has been demonstrated, by comparative assessment or other methodology, to have a level of safety and performance equal to or better than monopulse SSR.
